Jackson Meadows Reservoir Campgrounds

Nine campgrounds are located on the shores or close to Jackson Meadows Reservoir. Among them are two group camps, a horse camp (reserved for campers with horses) and a boat-in campground.

The campgrounds around the lake are all at about 6,100 feet in elevation. Campers enjoy beautiful views of the Sierra crest. Many of the campgrounds are operated by the Nevada Irrigation District (NID).

Jackson Meadows Reservoir has an abundance of recreation opportunities. Boating, water skiing, swimming, and fishing are all popular in the mountain lake. Nearby are trails and roads, including the Pacific Crest Trail. Hikers, horseback riders, and mountain bikers find miles of adventure around the lake.

Aspen Group Campground

Located north of Truckee on the north shore of Jackson Meadows Reservoir. From Truckee drive 17 miles north on Highway 89 to Little Truckee Summit, then travel left on Forest Road 7 sixteen miles, The campground is at an elevation of 6,100 feet, with views of the Sierra Crest and English Mountain. The campground is usually open from mid-June through mid-October.

East Meadow Campground

The campground is usually open from mid-June through October.

Located north of Truckee on a peninsula by Jackson Meadows Reservoir. From Truckee drive 17 miles north on Highway 89 to Little Truckee Summit, then travel left on Forest Road 7 sixteen miles, The campground is at an elevation of 6,100 feet. the only access to the campground is by boat. A boat launch ramp are found next to Pass Creek Campground. The campground is usually open from mid-June through October.

Located north of Truckee in a meadow near about 2 miles from Jackson Meadows Reservoir. From Truckee drive 17 miles north on Highway 89 to Little Truckee Summit, then travel left on Forest Road 7 sixteen miles. At East Meadow Campground turn left down Forest Road 80 for 1.3 miles. The campground is usually fully open from mid-June through October. Later in the season services may be limited. The campground is at 6,500 feet.
